Drive-Thru Route

  • Graduates participating in the event must arrive at your assigned start time as indicated on your Commencement confirmation ticket, using the entrance to campus on North Lemon Avenue (Commencement 2021 Drive-Thru Route Map).
  • Please enter on North Lemon Avenue heading north, pass Fullerton College Drive and turn right into the parking structure.
  • Vehicles with graduates will drive through the parking garage and stop at Graduate Checkpoint #1 to verify participation and registration for the Commencement drive-thru and to be given a special Fullerton College grad pack and a printed Commencement program.
  • Graduates will then proceed to Graduate Checkpoint #2 to be given a name reader card to fill out.
  • If restrooms are needed, vehicles will be directed to park at Student/Staff Parking Lot 4. Restrooms are located inside Sherbeck Field at the 1700 Bldg.
  • Graduates will be directed to enter the official processional area at Lot 5.
  • Once at the staging area, the graduate’s name will be read by a faculty reader, graduate will receive a Fullerton College diploma cover (gifted by the Associated Students).
  • Vehicles with graduates will officially drive through and cross the stage exiting Lot 5 and turning right on Berkeley Avenue.
  • Seat belts and face masks are required. No one is permitted to exit their vehicles at any time.

 

Drive-Thru Rules

  • Only vehicles with Fullerton College graduates (Summer 2019, Fall 2019, Spring 2020, Summer 2020, Fall 2020, and Spring 2021) will be allowed to participate in the event. Family and friends can be passengers in the same enclosed vehicle, and are strictly prohibited from gathering on campus or accompanying in additional vehicles.
  • Graduates should be seated in the front passenger side seat (when possible).
  • More than one graduating student may be in a vehicle. Ideally, graduates will be positioned on the passenger side of the vehicle to receive diploma cover and other Fullerton College branded items.
  • Graduates and passengers in the vehicle must be wearing a seat belt and a face mask. No one will be allowed to exit the vehicle at any time.
  • There shall be no audience, other than Fullerton College faculty and staff, and invited dignitaries from North Orange County Community College District. All faculty and staff participating in the event will be spaced apart to observe social and physical distancing guidelines and will be wearing face masks throughout the event.
  • If driving a truck, no one is allowed to be in the bed of any truck.
  • No RVs, stretch limousines, party buses, or motorcycles allowed as vehicles.
  • Vehicles must obey posted speed limits.
  • No throwing of items from vehicles.
  • No air horns or drones allowed.
  • Please no loud music playing from vehicles or honking horns to give each graduate an opportunity to have their name read and heard as each vehicle crosses the drive-thru staging area.
